Sendai Station


Sendai Station (仙台駅) is located in Aoba-ku of Sendai city in Miyagi prefecture in Tohoku area of Japan. It is the terminal station of Sendai city, the biggest city in Tohoku area.

Sendai city is known as the City of Trees (Mori-no-miyako). And the city is popular for tourists due to the famous festival, historic sites, and an unique building, Sendai Mediatheque.

The city has a popular festival, Sendai Tanabata Matsuri (Tanabata festival), in summer that has a long history. Many tourists visit Sendai city to enjoy this festival.

Sendai Mediatheque is a public facility having library, art gallery, event space and studios. This building was designed by Toyo Ito and is known by its unique structure.

There is a commercial facility, S-PAL Sendai, at Sendai Station that has shops and restaurants. On B1 floor, there are restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops.

There is a department store, Sendai PARCO, connected to the station by pedestrian deck. There are 2 buildings of PARCO department store connected to Sendai Station. This department store has shops and restaurants.
