Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station


Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station (新函館北斗駅) is located in Hokuto city of Hokkaido prefecture. This is the northernmost Shinkansen station and the last stop of Hokkaido Shinkansen from Shin-Aomori.

Hokkaido Shinkansen started its operation in 2016 between Shin-Aomori Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station. And, Hokkaido Shinkansen is planed to expand to Sapporo by 2031. Until this expansion, Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station is the main Shinkansen Station for Hokaido Island.

      • Takes more than 3 hours from New Chitose Airport to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station
      • JR Chitose Line from New Chitose Airport Station to Minami Chitose Station and transfer to JR Muroran Main Line/Hakodate Main Line to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station

Shops and Restaurants

Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station is not located in a commercial area. Therefore, there are not many shops and restaurants around the station. There is the Hokuto City Tourism Exchange Center, Hokkuru, next to the station and there are cafe and souvenir shop in the same building.

There are just a few hotels around Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station.
