Ueno Station


Ueno Station (上野駅) is located in Taito-ku, Tokyo. It is the terminal station of the northeast area of Tokyo.

In front of Ueno Station, there is Ueno Park that has Ueno Zoo, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, National Museum of Nature and Science, National Museum of Western Art, Kiyomizu Kannon-do, Ueno Toshogu Shrine and Shinobazu Pond, popular places for tourists and locals. And, there is Tokyo National Museum next to Ueno Park. Therefore, many tourists use Ueno Station to visit these places.

    Shops and Restaurants

    At Ueno Station, there is atre Ueno, a commercial facility having shops and restaurants as well as grocery store. This facility is located just in front of the train gates. It is convenient to get something quick before boarding Shinkansen.

    There is a department store, Ueno Marui, in front of Ueno Station. There are many fashion stores, restaurants, and cafes. This department store also has MUJI and Nitori, popular stores in Japan.
